Scripture Reflection on 16th Sunday Ordinary Time
Posted at 1:29 pm July 12th, '10

This week's Gospel is the familiar story of Martha and Mary. Below is a reflection from St. Louis University, Center for Liturgy, from the website following the reflection.
I ask the grace to choose the better part.
The Gospel according to Luke, 10:38-42
Jesus entered a village where a woman whose name was Martha welcomed him. She had a sister named Mary.
Martha
made
the table ready,
assembled the meal,
and poured good table wine.
Mary
sat herself down at his feet.
His words, the sound of his voice,
stilled her heart
and filled
her.
You call us to sit at your feet and listen,
to just to be with you for a while.
Help us do the one thing now,
not save it for some
other time.
It’s for you we hunger.
You are our
feast.
