Health Ministry

Beloved, I hope you are prospering in every respect and are in good health, just as your soul is prospering.  3 John 2

Parish Nurse

St. Pius X Parish recognizes its call to be a healing community with an intentional plan and programs to support its members in the stewardship of health which encompasses body, mind, and spirit.

Mission: The mission of our Health Ministry is to facilitate and enhance the healing power of faith, relationships, and community in our lives.  Our philosophy is that we are all ministers to one another working collaboratively to promote health in individuals, families, our faith community, and in the community we serve.

We encourage all to share in the responsibilities and rewards of making St. Pius a "healing place".

Wellness Committee

The Wellness Committee is a 10 member group that establishes goals, sets priorities, and plans programming to meet the health and wellness needs of the Parish.  They assist the Parish Nurse with health programming, special projects, and the recruitment of volunteers for service needed in the Health Ministry.  Their individual involvement in other church ministries helps to integrate our health and wellness goals throughout all other ministries.

The Wellness Committee invites everyone to visit our Wellness Booth at this year's Fall Festival on Sunday, October 18.  Blood Pressure Screening will be available. In addition, there will be helpful information on several family health topics.  Joining us will be a representative from Community Health Services  who will  answer questions about their services and All-Kids Health insurance eligibility and enrollment. There will be health give-aways from the Quad Cities Health Initiative and Trinity Regional Health Center.  Come check out our new Automatic External Defibrillator too!  Don't miss the opportunity to register for one of our door prizes when you visit us!
