Welcome to Saint Pius’ Youth Ministry Program!  My name is Susan Stanforth, the new Coordinator of Youth Ministry, and I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself.  This past fall my husband and I re-located to the Quad Cities.  I am a graduate of Holy Cross College (Notre Dame, Indiana) and Marian University (Indianapolis, Indiana).  For the previous six years, I lived in Indianapolis, Indiana where I held a youth ministry position for four years within the Archdiocese of Indianapolis. 

As the Coordinator of Youth Ministry, I will work with high school teens within the parish.  The Youth Ministry Office will offer Youth Events that are a combination of Spiritual, Service, and Social events which contain the eight key components of Catholic Youth Ministry; advocacy, catechesis, community life, evangelization, justice & service, leadership development, pastoral care, and prayer & worship. 

Some regular Youth Events that the Youth Ministry Office will be offering are the following:

High School Youth Nights:  High School Teens are invited every 1st and 3rd Sunday evening (except otherwise noted) from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m.  There will be open gym, movies, games, prayers, service projects, snacks, and time to socialize with friends!  Each week we will have a different theme.  Teens may come after the 6:00 p.m. Mass.

Junior High:  Events will be offered once a month that contain spiritual, service, and social components.  Junior High Youth Ministry is brand new to Saint Pius in 2010!
