Youth Ministry
Dear St. Pius Youth,With school started again for the year and sports in full swing, I know it can be hard to add just one more thing to your schedule. I think it's also hard going somewhere new when you don't know anyone.
With this said, I ask you to make your youth group a priority. That's right, your youth group. I am not the youth minister for fortune or fame, but for love. For love of the Church, and love of you, the youth, I have made a commitment to work towards building a vibrant youth community in this parish.
Why make the sacrifices and invest the time? First, I believe God has called me to be right here, right now where I am in my life. God has brought me to a place in my life where I can serve as the youth minister. Second, I also believe that were it not for an active youth group when I was a teen, my faith would be little more than something I "had to do" on Sunday. My faith is alive because of a youth group in my past. I find the energy to do this in God, and in my knowledge that building a vibrant youth group will give someone, perhaps you, the spark to keep your faith alive.
So, I invite you, come pray with us, come laugh with us, come share with us. You are so important that God has called me to be here and now for you.
As I said, it can be a little anxiety-inducing to go somewhere you don't know anyone. Bring a friend with you, but also know that you are welcome before you even walk in the door.
