St. Pius X Youth Ministry


Many events are scheduled for the youth this summer.  Please, read below to hear about a few of them!


 


What is going on in the Youth Ministry World this week …


 


Congratulations Graduates:  A big congrats to all 8th Grade Graduates (Jordan, Washington, Wilson, Etc.) and those who are graduating from High School (Alleman & Rock Island).  I hope you enjoy(ed) your graduation and continue to stay active in the St. Pius Community.  


 


Way to make St. Pius Proud:  Congratulations to all those who have participated in Spring Sports, Choir, and Drama!  It has been great to hear about how all your hard work has paid off.  Continue to let the gifts God has blessed you with shine within the community!


 


High School Youth Night - SUNDAY:  High School Teens (incoming freshmen – outgoing seniors) are invited to join us THIS SUNDAY, JUNE 6th!  Come to Farrell Hall from 7-9 for socializing, meeting new friends, growing in your faith, enjoying dinner, and more!  We will be watching a movie, no worries other opportunities will be available for those who aren’t interested in the movie!  We will be discussing our up-coming fundraiser at Noodles & Company.  Feel free to bring your favorite religious quote or scripture passage J  Contact Susan Stanforth to volunteer your time to this event or future youth events – youthministry@stpiusri.org 


 


Youth Ministry this Summer …


 


St. Pius X “Night Out”:  Open to incoming 7th – outgoing 8th grade teens to join us on Tuesday, June 15th.  This evening will include traveling to the new America’s Incredible Pizza Company in Davenport! Youth will have the opportunity to enjoy the pizza buffet and then hit the indoor “Fairgrounds.”  Please contact the Parish or Youth Ministry Office for a registration form, all forms are asked to be turned into the St. Pius Youth Ministry or Parish Office by June 13 so transportation can be arranged.  The cost is $15; this includes transportation, pizza buffet, and their Incredible Card. All Incredible Cards will be loaded with $15 where they can spend on their choice of laser tag, Route 66 mini golf, bumper cars, bowling, and a huge arcade. Each card will also be loaded with one free attraction!  No teen will be turned down for this event because of cost. Please contact the YMO if you are in need of scholarship money. Teens are welcomed to donate a few extra dollars this will go towards teens that need scholarship money for this event.  Contact the Youth Ministry Office via e-mail for a Registration Form or you can find them in the back of Church.


 


High School Youth Nights:  High School Teens are asked to save the dates for the following Youth Nights: Sunday 06/06 and Sunday 06/20.  Come to Farrell Hall from 7-9 for socializing, meeting new friends, growing in your faith, enjoying dinner, and more!  Contact Susan Stanforth to volunteer your time to this event or future youth events – youthministry@stpiusri.org 


Youth Ministry Fundraiser – Noodles & Company:  Save the date - Tuesday, July 13th for the “Noodles & Company” Youth Ministry Fundraiser!  Come and eat dinner at Noodles & Company in Davenport and the St. Pius X Youth Ministry Scholarship Fund will get 10% of your total!  Please start passing the word to your friends, family members, and coworkers!  Please e-mail Susan if you are a teen or adult that can help with this fundraiser!


Parish Movie Night:  Wednesday, July 14th all parishioners are invited to The Archbishop Fulton Sheen Movie Night: Servant of all.  The night will be from 7PM – 8:30 PM.  Are you a youth going to this movie night and might be interested in pizza before hand, if so e-mail Susan.  Pass the word about this exciting Parish Event!


Junior High Youth Night – Summer Olympics:  Save the date for Sunday, July 25th from 7-9 PM in Farrell Hall!  Incoming 7th & 8th Grade Teens are invited to compete in the Summer Olympics, while meeting new friends, enjoying dinner, and participating in a prayer opportunity.  Pass the word to all your friends.


THANK YOU … To the many adults who have volunteered their time for the High School and Junior High Youth Programs.  The donations that have been coming into the Youth Ministry Office are very much appreciated.  Just a few things that have been donated are: cookies, board games, stickers, pop/juice, paper-products, and more!  If you would like a copy of the Youth Ministry Wish List please look on the parish website under “Youth Ministry.”  Thank you for your continued support!  May God continue to bless you.
