Our Sisters

Restoring and Rebuilding: The Sisters of St. Francis of the Martyr St. George

We are excited to be here at St. Pius X Catholic Church and to walk with you in your faith journey.  As Sisters of St. Francis of the Martyr St. George, we continue our 20+ year ministries in the Rock Island area. Our parish patron, St. Pius X, proclaimed our Christian call “to restore all things in Christ” and our community patron, St. Francis, heard from the Cross, “Rebuild My Church.” We, as Sisters, hope to renew and enflame our Parish Family through God’s tender and merciful love.

The five of us will be in various apostolates throughout Rock Island. At Alleman High School, Sister M. Benedicta will be teaching Biology and working Campus Ministry, Sister M. Michael has returned to teach Theology, and Sister M. Bernadette will also teach Theology. At St. Pius X Parish, Sister M. Theresita will be helping at Jordan and visiting the sick & homebound, and Sister M. Clementia is the Director of Religious Education. Sister M. Clementia and at least two more of us will also be coordinating Youth Ministry.

We are incredibly grateful for your warm welcome and look forward to working with you and alongside you. If you would like more information about the Sisters and their Community, go to www.altonfranciscans.org.
