Pro-Life Committee

The pro-life ministry promotes respect for life from conception to natural death by educating our parish members about pro-life issues and legislation.

We will be planning a few events throughout the year at the parish and in our community and are hoping to add a few more committee members.  Anyone interested in joining the St. Pius Pro-Life Committee, please email Julie Nonnemann.

For more details on the Committee or the next meeting, please email Julie.

Spiritual Adoption Begins March 25

The Feast of the Annunciation

 Pray for the unborn

Spiritual Adoption begins March 25, the Feast of the Annunciation -- celebrating Jesus coming to us in the womb of His mother Mary.

You may "adopt" a child by signing up at Mass. You will be asked to pray for your preborn child and for all preborn children.  Please name the child for whom you will be praying, giving the baby the humanity he or she deserves.

Each month in the bulletin we will update you on the baby's development and Jesus' journey in Mary's womb until Christmas.

Members of the Pro-Life Committee will be available to answer qkuestions arer Mass next weekend.

From the Pastor:

I want to thank our Pro-Life group and many other parish groups for their efforts in bringing life issues before us.

The way we protect life is the way we will go as a nation. The lack of respect for the unborn and the laws which violate God’s divine law need to be changed! The culture of death, the lack of respect, senseless killings, violent crimes… all of this is a result of removing Jesus from public life and a lack of morals within our homes and society.

Unfortunately this culture of death is continuing to worsen as the legislature in the State of Illinois is promoting HB 40 whose focus is to get federal funds for abortion. Let us continue to storm heaven in prayer, especially through the Rosary, and do what we can to stand up for life issues at the beginning of life, and all throughout i.e., respect for the poor, the homeless, the abused, the unjustly imprisoned, refugees and for those facing end of life issues.

Our Lady of Guadalupe, Patroness of the Unborn, pray for us.
